50,000 passports were lost or stolen over 18 month period

From the Department of Foreign Affairs figures…

In 2008, 36,264 passports were reported either lost or stolen.  Of these 31,262 were reported lost and 5,002 were reported stolen.
In the first six months of 2009, 14,413 passports were reported lost, and 2,422 were reported stolen.

Sunday Tribune: The Big Stories Behind The small Ads

Found.ie was mentioned in the Sunday Tribune on 17th January.

Eithne Pierce in Walkinstown was interviewed about a wedding ring which came into her possession 15 years ago. She is now trying to find the owner of the wedding ring and has placed an ad on Found.ie to do so. The ring is engraved with the date 28/08/1993.
